A DRIVER is recovering from injuries following a robbery in Fernhill.
The owner of a silver Vauxhall Insignia was taken to hospital after he tried to stop a man from making off with his vehicle.
He sustained minor injuries while attempting to hold onto the car as it was driven away from Walmersley Road shortly before 7.30pm last night.
The vehicle was reported stolen to Greater Manchester Police, who immediately began tracking the Vauxhall.
Officers pursued the driver, who proceeded to rammed a police car and several other vehicles, before being brought to a stop in Hornby Street, Fernhill.
A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and dangerous driving. He remains in custody for questioning.
The victim has since been discharged from hospital.
