Sci-Fi on the Sidings

Prepare for unidentified flying objects hovering over Heywood, Men in Black in Bury and Wookiees roaming around Ramsbottom this weekend, as Sci-Fi on the Sidings returns to the East Lancashire Railway. Enjoy some out of this world activities and attractions from 10am-4pm on Saturday with everyone’s favourite fictional characters as you travel along the 12-mile line.

Summer Rocks

This summer, The Rock Bury has teamed up with Tower FM to host a series of free, fun-filled events for the family. Situated outside the Racconto Lounge every Saturday in August, reptiles, dragons and space domes are taking over the retail and leisure park. Pop down and see the RAWR-some Spinosaurus and its babies this weekend. The shows are scheduled for 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3pm.

Fitbit on Foot: Mental Health Mates Walk

There’s nothing like the fresh air to clear your mind, or a chat to make you feel better. That’s why Fitbit and Mental Health Mates have partnered up for the first Northern ‘Fitbit on Foot’ event in Heaton Park, Prestwich, this Sunday at 11am. The hour-long stroll combines walking and talking to provide a safe space to discuss mental health, free from judgement. Free Let's Fish! Learn to Fish Sessions

Fancy yourself as a fisherman? This weekend why not put down the tablet and take to the towpath to learn how to fish. On Saturday, a team of qualified angling coaches will be helping visitors to the Manchester, Bury and Bolton Canal, behind the Royal Oak pub in Radcliffe, to master the skill. Manchester Fake Festival 2019

A flurry of fakes are descending upon Heaton Park on Saturday for the first ever Manchester Fake Festival. Six of the finest tribute acts are taking to the very same stage as some of their namesakes have once done, delivering a dose of nostalgia which celebrates some of the most influential groups in rock. Join Oasish, the Total Stone Roses, the Stereotonics, Duran, Green Date and The Police Force in the purpose-built marquee at Heaton Park for a chance to reminisce and relive the rave.
