Emergency services were called to a crash, where a person had become trapped after crashing his car and flipping it onto its side.
Fire crews, the ambulance service and the police attended the incident in Beaufort Street, Nelson.
An elderly gentleman had crashed into a parked car, flipped his vehicle on its side which resulted in him becoming trapped.
Firefighters assisted with getting the man out of the car and he was assessed at the roadside by paramedics before being taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We were called at 6.18pm to an RTC involving a car on its side.
"We were able to quickly release the person and handed them over to the paramedics.
"Crews were in attendance for approximately 35 minutes."
