STAFF who usually spend their time running the NHS 111 service have turned their hand to helping a charity.
Lucie’s Pantry recently opened at the Emmaus compound in Fletcher Street, Bolton to provides a sustainable and affordable source of food for struggling families.
The shop has been inundated with customers and supplies were running low.
NHS 111 clinical services manager Susan Sumner responded to an urgent appeal and organised for 111 staff to donate food or money in exchange for coming to work in their own clothes.
Dozens of items were donated and a total of £156 was collected and spent on further food and toiletries.
The supplies were handed to staff at Lucie's Pantry last week.
Ms Sumner said: “To say they were overwhelmed by how much we donated is an understatement.
"Once again thank you for your generous support.”
