POLICE have released an image of a man they wish to speak to about a sexual assault in Bury.

A 14-year-old girl was assaulted in Croft Street on Saturday June 22, 2019.

The girl was walking along the street between 12.30pm and 12.45pm, when a man approached her and sexually assaulted her.

The man then ran off in the direction of the Iceland Food store in Rochdale Road.

The girl was uninjured during the attack.

Police Constable Luke Gregory of GMP’s Bury district said: “We are asking the public to take a good look at the photo we are releasing and would appeal directly to anybody that recognises the man pictured to please get in touch.

“Since the incident occurred we have followed numerous lines of enquiries to trace the offender. We now turn to the general public to assist our investigation.

“We appreciate that this incident may cause concern among residents in the local community but I want to make it very clear that we are doing all that we can to trace the person responsible.”
