A YOUTH dance team has taken home gold after beating competition from around the world.

The squad from Sandham’s Dance School, in Peel Street, Farnworth, celebrated their victory after taking on troupes at the Dance World Cup, in Braga, Portugal, in June.

The team took home the Dance World Cup award after performing ‘Gatsby’, a Latin and ballroom junior formation team dance.

They were sponsored by Kia Dealership, RRG Bury, based in Bolton Road.

Dance teacher Jade Munro, said: “We’re so grateful for the support we’ve received from RRG Bury. Their support has meant we can compete at an international level and the team are so thrilled with their most recent accolade at Dance world cup in Portugal.

“The team and I would like to thank everyone at RRG Bury for their continued support.”

Jonathan Brogan, Sales Manager at RRG Bury, added: “At RRG Bury, we’re proud to be able to support local businesses and clubs within the community.

“We have sponsored the dance team this year, and have provided them with uniforms to help them compete, both on a national and international level. We’re proud to see them win at the Dance World Cup, and we hope to see many more trophies very soon.”
