A kind-hearted fundraiser who gives his time to help under-privileged children took a group of kids to the funfair on Tuesday evening, and paid for them all out of his own pocket.

Mickii Edwards, who lives in Great Harwood, also treated the youngsters to pizza before they were whisked off to Witton Park to enjoy the rides.

Mr Edwards has been carrying out his acts of kindness for ten years, and says he does it so that those children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds get to have fun too (and he's never lost a child yet).

He said: "I love doing things like this - it’s just to get kids off street and have some fun.

"I pay for it all and we do around three to four trips a year plus a load of stuff at Christmas where we buy presents for kids and set up a grotto so they can see Santa.

"I have a lot of friends who help me out as they love what we do.

"This time, Papa Mario's pizza in Great Harwood made some pizza's for free, as he is a good friend of mine.

"He came in on his day off before we went to the funfair, and the kids wolfed it down.

"The parents who helped me to do this have been great and Cranberry Coaches let me hire a coach last minute at a reduced price.

"I love seeing the smiles on the kids faces, it's such a buzz."
