The Bolton News:

A resident, who asked to remain anonymous, said they had heard the incident but had not realised the extent of the collision.

She said: "I was sat watching TV and I did hear a bang and some shouting.

"I didn't think anything of it until I started to see blue lights outside my house.

"I looked out and there was a guy lying on the road and there were lots of people around him."

She added: "People come flying around this road. What are they waiting for? How much has to happen before anything is done about this road?"

A number of people in the area voiced concerns over speeding on Moss Bank Way.

One mother said: "It's really bad here, people speed up and down all the time. We need a traffic light or something.

"It's to the point where you don't want to let your kids out."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log number 55 020819.
