SCENE: Police in Gladstone Street, Halliwell
POLICE were called to reports of a disturbance in Halliwell this evening.
Residents living close to Gladstone Street said up to seven police vehicles descended on the street at about 6pm.
Officers at the scene said they had been called to reports of youths "squabbling".
One man, who asked not to be named, said: "I have never seen so many police down here. It is unusual.
"Something must have happened for that many to come down."
Another resident reported seeing a male in his late teens leave a house accompanied by police.
