A MAN caught driving without insurance has been banned from the roads for six months.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Gabriel Posoceanu, aged 27, of Garston Street, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offence in a Ford Focus on Taylor Street, Bury, on September 16.

He was fined £250 and ordered to pay £115 in costs and charges.

nMAGISTRATES have ordered a woman to undertake 108 hours of unpaid work after she pleaded guilty to assault.

Samina Delaney, aged 38, of Albion Street, Radcliffe, had initially denied assaulting a woman on October 16, but then changed her plead to guilty.

Delaney was ordered to pay her victim £200 in compensation and pay £405 in costs and charges. A restraining order was also made banning her from contacting her victim.

nA COMPANY has been fined £1,000 after failing to give police the name of a VW Polo driver who was alleged to have committed an offence.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court the case against Radcliffe Trade Car Centre Ltd, of Hamer Street, Radcliffe, was proved in their absence.

The court also ordered them to pay £185 in prosecution costs and charges.

nA MAN has been ordered to have treatment for drug addiction after he admitted damaging two cars in Prestwich on July 17.

Manchester magistrates heard how Paul Wilkinson, aged 37, of no fixed address, caused damage, estimated at £200, to a Peugeot 208 and £100 worth of damage to a Honda Civic.

He was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, was ordered to pay £200 in compensation and a restraining order was made banning him from going to Carrigart Street, Prestwich.

nA BURY firm has been fined £7,500 plus £886 in costs and charges after putting up advertising signs in Manchester without authorisation.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court JD Sports Fashion PLC, of Hollinsbrook Way, Pilsworth, pleaded guilty to committing the offences, advertising their products on November 20 and December 8 and 12 last year as well as January 26.

nA DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for 14 months after he pleaded guilty to committing the offence in a Peugeot 206 on Water Street, Radcliffe, on July 14.

Yaseen Caan, aged 45, of Padiham Close, Bury, was also fined £200 and was ordered to pay £117 in costs and charges.

nA WOMAN has been fined £40 and ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities after she damaged a window. At Manchester magistrates Stacey Riddell, aged 31, of Ripon Avenue, Whitefield, pleaded guilty to committing the offence on May 18.
