A ROAD is closed in both directions after a car crash.

Hardy Mill Road in Harwood is closed after a crash left a car on its roof.

Police say that the driver suffered a medical epsiode, causing her to crash into a series of vehicles.

The driver is now at hospital, receiving checks for minor injuries. 

Police, ambulance and fire crews are at the scene in Hardy Mill Road while the incident is being dealt with.

Greater Manchester Police Traffic said: "Driver suffered a medical episode and collided with a series of vehicles.

"Fortunately only minor injury sustained and she's off to hospital to be checked over.

"Road now reopened and referal made to DVLA."

Buses are being redirected and terminated due to the road closure, including the 507 bus.

At 4.17pm, First Manchester tweeted: "Due to a road traffic incident on Hardy Mill Road. The road will be closed in both directions the 507 bus has terminated service at Bradshaw Brow turning circle."
