A DRUNKEN man indecently assaulted a woman 30 years his junior who was a guest in his home.

Blackburn magistrates heard Craig Douglas Bradley touched the female inappropriately as she went to disconnect the power cable because he was playing loud music which she thought would upset the neighbours.

Bradley, 56, of Bond Street, Nelson, pleaded guilty to sexual assault. He was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison suspended for 12 months, placed on the sex offender register for seven years and ordered to pay the victim £200 compensation.

Philippa White, prosecuting, said on the day of the incident Bradley had been drinking heavily and playing music. She was concerned about the level of noise and that it might disturb the neighbours.

"She went to disconnect the power cable and as she did he touched her inappropriately," said Mrs White.

"She told him he had no right to do that, called the police and waited outside for them to arrive. She said his behaviour had made her feel disgusted."

Mohammed Yusuf, defending, said it was a one-off incident as a result of his client's high level of alcohol consumption.
