THE boss of one of the key landowners in the Rivington Chase redevelopment of Horwich Loco Works for housing has promised more details of plans for new footpaths and bike tracks.
Mark Caldwell, chief executive of Bluemantle was responding to concerns expressed by Bolton West MP Chris Green and Horwich Heritage on the provision for pedestrians and cyclists in the current plans for 1,7000 homes.
He said: "The proposed spine road through Rivington Chase will link Horwich town centre to Middlebrook, and is absolutely crucial in unlocking the development of the site.
"It will significantly improve traffic flow in and around Horwich. Alongside the carefully-designed link road, will be a network of cycleways and footpaths, as well as green spaces.
"We look forward to announcing more details about the cycle routes at a later date and continuing to work with the community to answer their questions as the Rivington Chase scheme moves forward.”
