GAWTHORPE Hall is hosting an evening of William Shakespeare themed entertainment this month.

An outdoor production of A Midsummer Night's Dream is being performed on Saturday, July 27, at 6.30pm.

The performance is produced by Off The Ground Productions Ltd..

The play portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta, the former queen of the Amazons.

Lancashire County Cllr Peter Buckley, cabinet member for community and cultural services, said: "Even the Bard himself couldn't have imagined a more incredible location for this performance, set against the wonderful historic backdrop of Gawthorpe Hall.

Tickets for the performance cost £15 for adults, £12 for concessions, £5 for under 21's and children go free.

Bringing own camping chairs and cushions is advised.

Tickets for the performance can also be purchased on the night and admission is from 5pm.
