A MAN who took a VW Golf without permission in Bury on September 13 last year has been ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Daniel Talbot, aged 30, of Lea Mount Drive, Bury, pleaded guilty to committing the offence.

He was told he must participate in 15 days of rehabilitation activities, pay £170 in costs and charges and was banned from driving for 12 months.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to undertake 80 hours of unpaid work after he was caught drug driving.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Patrick Allen, aged 35, of Argyle Avenue, Whitefield, pleaded guilty to committing the offence by driving a Ford Fiesta on Argyle Avenue on January 9 after using cannabis.

He also admitted driving without a licence or insurance.

Allen was banned from applying for a driving licence for 15 months and was ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.

A TEENAGER who was violent towards a dog has been sentenced to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.

Manchester magistrates heard how Eden Chemo, aged 18, of Gloucester Avenue, Whitefield, caused suffering to a Husky/Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross dog on November 5 last year.

Chemo pleaded guilty and was banned from keeping animals for three years and was ordered to pay £300 towards RSPCA prosecution costs.

The court made an order depriving Chemo of the dog and permitting the RSPCA to rehouse it.

Veterinary costs, estimated to be £480, were paid from central funds.

A 13-YEAR-OLD boy who assaulted two people and used threatening behaviour has been electronically tagged.

At Manchester Youth Court the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to committing the offences in Bury on February 17.

He was made subject to a 9pm to 6am curfew for six weeks and ordered to pay his victims a total of £100 in compensation.

A MAN who disclosed sexual photographs or film of a woman has been ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Metteo Zuccarello-Toso, aged 22, of Lowther Court, Sandy Lane, Prestwich, pleaded guilty to committing the offence as well as harassing a woman and was sentenced to eight weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months.

He must also participate in an accredited programme for 21 days and rehabilitation activities for 10 days.

In addition, he was ordered to pay a total of £200 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a man to undertake 80 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to damaging a woman’s Citroen A1 car on June 14.

At Manchester Magistrates’ Court Danny Rhodes, aged 26, of Woodroyd Drive, Bury, was also ordered to pay his victim £300 in compensation plus £170 in costs and charges.

A restraining order was also made banning him from contacting his victim or entering Kingfisher Drive, Bury.

A DRINK driver has been banned from the roads for 17 months.

Manchester magistrates heard how Martin Eatock, aged 59, of Bury Road, Tottington, had drunk more than double the legal level of alcohol when he drove a Nissan Note on Church Street on May 12.

He pleaded guilty and was fined £190 plus £115 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have fined a man £180 and added six penalty points to his driving licence after he was caught using a Renault Clio in Maxwell Street, Bury on April 17.

Intekhab Ghulam, aged 21, of Brighton Street, Bury, had denied committing the offence but was convicted following a trial at Manchester Magistrates’ Court.

He was also ordered to pay £650 in costs and charges.

A MAN who admitted handling meat and washing tablets, stolen from the Co-op in Bury on March 26, has been jailed for 20 weeks.

Manchester magistrates heard how Dean Hodson, aged 32, of Foxglove Drive, Bury, was already subject to suspended sentences when he committed the offence and has a flagrant disregard for court orders.

Hodson was also ordered to pay £200 in costs and charges.

MAGISTRATES have sentenced a teenager to do 100 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to stealing a set of keys, handbag and purse in Bury on September 13 last year.

Henry Doyle, aged 18, of Fieldhead Avenue, Bury, was also ordered to participate in 30 days of rehabilitation activities and pay £170 in costs and charges.

A MAN who had no insurance when he drove a Mitsubishi Lancer on Tottington Road, Bury, on March 6, 2017, has been fined £660 by Manchester magistrates.

Richard Mawdsley, aged 33, of Beech Grove Close, Bury, was found guilty of committing the offence and was also ordered to pay £151 in costs and charges.
