A pensioner suffered serious injuries in a car crash in Blackburn.
Police were called around 5.30pm on Tuesday to a collision involving a Hyundai I10 car and Seat Ibiza car at the junction of Ramsgreave Drive and Barker Lane.
An 83-year-old woman from Blackburn, a passenger in the Hyundai, suffered a suspected fractured neck, broken ribs, chest injuries and a suspected fractured pelvis.
She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital and is in a serious condition.
The driver of the Hyundai, a 91-year-old man from Blackburn, suffered a cut to his knee, with the driver of the Seat, a 34-year-old man from Accrington, suffering suspected whiplash injuries.
The road was closed for closed for more than two hours while emergency services attended the scene.
Sgt Michael Belfield said: “We are keen to speak to any witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Blackburn.
“We know a number of motorists will have been using the road during rush hour and would encourage anyone with information to come forward.”
