POLICE were called after a drunken woman started stripping off outside a taxi office.

Blackburn magistrates heard when officers arrived Eden Barnes was wearing her trousers and a bra.

And they described a group of men across the street as "wide eyed and animated."

Barnes, 20, of Wellington Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly and assaulting an emergency worker.

She was remanded on bail until July 12 for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said police were advised that Barnes was being violent outside City Private Hire in Cardwell Place, Blackburn, and was starting to take her clothes off.

When officers tried to move her away from the public gaze she became abusive and the decision was made to arrest her for being drunk and disorderly.

She responded by pushing an officer and trying to grab the face of another as she was placed in the back of a van.

"When an officer went to get her out at the police station she was lying on her back," said Miss Allan.

"She kicked out and caught the officer on the side of the face.

"She has no previous but she has kicked an officer in the face while he was acting in the execution of his duty."
