A 22-YEAR-OLD drug dealer has been jailed after he was found in possession of crack cocaine and heroin.

On March 19, Mohammed Abas was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs after he was stopped by officers from the targeted crime team. At the time, he was found to have over £400 worth of drugs with him.

Just over a month later officer once again saw Abas, of Audley Range, Blackburn while out in the town and tried to stop him.

But he failed to do so as requested and a short pursuit followed before he abandoned the vehicle and ran away on foot.

Shortly after he was detained in a back garden where over £300 worth of crack cocaine and heroin was found.

Abas was once again arrested and a police probe took place.

A spokesman said: "Following a thorough investigation involving drugs analysis, house searches and mobile phone examinations he pleaded guilty to both offences."

He appeared in Preston Crown Court this week where he was sentenced to 3 years and 9 months.
