ADVENTUROUS fundraisers faced their fears at the weekend as they took part in two skydives to help raise awareness and vital funds for Bury charity Annabelle’s Challenge.

Named after Annabelle Griffin, Annabelle’s Challenge exists to raise awareness of Vascular Ehlers-Danlos (vEDS) — a rare, incurable and life-threatening genetic condition.

Annabelle's brothers, Oliver, aged 17, and Ryan, aged 22, jumped from a height of 15,000ft to raise money for the charity last weekend.

The event raised a huge £9000 for the charity, with more donations still pouring in.

Charity co-founder Jared Griffin, Annabelle's father, said: "Well done to both teams for taking to the skies for Annabelle’s Challenge, raising an incredible amount of awareness and funds.

"Fantastic effort from the Rizzo family and also to Annabelle’s brothers Ryan and Oliver for taking part.

“There was great support for the event which is really appreciated.”

The skydive took place at two locations, with one group jumping from The Black Knights Parachute Centre in Lancaster and the other group jumping from Skydive Hibaldstow.

Many people took part in the event including a team from Home Bargains store, F3 Personal Training and the Rizzo family whose son Ted has also been diagnosed with vEDS.

The donations will go towards research and to help the 245 families affected by Vascular EDS who are currently supported by Annabelle’s’ Challenge.
