A MOTORIST was caught watching YouTube videos after being stopped by police.

Traffic officers stopped the driver in Bolton after spotting that his mobile phone had been fixed on his windscreen in line of sight — to discover he was watching online videos.

And the driver's response was that they did it all the time — not realising it was against the law.

It's illegal to hold a phone or sat nav while driving or riding a motorcycle. The device must also not block your view of the road and traffic ahead, according to gov.uk

The law states you must stay in full control of your vehicle at all times. Police can stop you if they think you are not in control because you are distracted and you can be prosecuted.
