EACH year, members of the public are invited to have some fun and have a go at croquet to raise money for a Bury charity.

Bury Croquet Club once against hosted the borough's celebrations to mark National Croquet Day.

Organisers invited the Mayor of Bury and representatives from Bury Hospice along with the public to try their hand at the sport.

People came together at Coronation Park, in Radcliffe, to raise money for Bury Hospice.

The then Mayor of Bury, Cllr Jane Black, with her consort and Bury Hospice representative Nicola Ainsworth, were among those who attended the event.

This was one of the last duties of Bury's mayor before leaving office.

Despite the terrible weather conditions, the event on April 27 helped to raise £600 for the hospice.
