A MAN’S body was found a week after he was last seen by neighbours.

Ian Pass, 68, was discovered in his bedroom on March 14 by concerned neighbours, after they noticed a house light hadn’t been turned off for several days.

An inquest in Preston heard retired Mr Pass, who lived alone in Manor Road, Blackburn, had been a talented artist in his time.

But he had suffered some physical pain, and towards the end of his life had withdrawn from friends.

Neighbour Diane Drane said she last saw Mr Pass on March 7, when he brought some food to her house.

She said she then saw a light on in his house for three days before messaging Mr Pass. She also rang the next day but got not reply so, with a neighbour, went into the house using a spare key.

The inquest heard that they found Mr Pass' body on a bed, with a belt around his neck.

Ms Drain said she didn’t believe he would kill himself and thought it had been an accident.

Coroner James Newman also questioned whether this was a deliberate act and recorded a misadventure conclusion.
