Here is our round-up of five of the best ways to spend a long summer evening with friends and family.
Enjoy some pub grub in the sunshine
Why not take the family to sit in the sun whilst enjoying a Cajun Chicken Burger or a juicy 8oz Steak at Bob’s Smithy Inn?
This pub is open from 12pm until 9pm on Saturdays so it’s the perfect excuse to get out in the sunshine and enjoy the summer evenings.
The pub is also known for its excellent selection of traditional cask ales and award-winning reputation, winning Summer Pub of the Season in 2011.
Take a trip to the farm
Whilst the weather is warm enjoy an exciting family day out at Smithills Open Farm.
There are animals in the pet’s corner, a robotic milking machine, homemade ice-cream and much more.
Visitors can take part in bottle feeding lambs and goats, meeting all the most recent babies and holding small animals.
The farm is open daily from 10am till 5pm.
Pack a tea time picnic and head to your local park
Moss Bank Park is the perfect place for summer evenings to keep the kids entertained on a tight budget.
The park is completely free, so you can let the kids roam free in the great outdoors without spending lots of money.
Moss Bank Park is also home to multiple play areas, so your children can burn off some energy before bed.
Walk to remember
This year marks the 13th Bolton Midnight Memories walk in aid of Bolton Hospice.
The hospice wants to make this year the biggest, brightest and most memorable yet.
Take out your gym shoes and put on some brightly coloured clothing for the eight-mile walk starting at 10pm on June 15 at the Market Place Shopping Centre.
People are being invited to walk ‘in memory’, as a ‘supporter’, or as a ‘survivor.’
The route will start at the shopping centre before continuing along Chorley New Road directly past the hospice, almost to the Beehive roundabout and back again.
Early bird tickets are £15 but standard tickets are £20.

Go back in time and reminisce about school
For one night only, get dressed up in school uniform and reminisce about the good days of school at The Last Drop Village.
On June 22 at 7pm till 1am, you can be entertained all night with throwback disco tracks from the DJ and enjoy a three-course meal.
There will be a prize for the best fancy dress outfit, so make sure to get dressed up.
Tickets start at £25.95 and the event is for over 18s only.
