IDEAS for improving safety for cyclists and pedestrians on the six mile section of the A590 near Grange-over-Sands will be presented to residents and road users next month.

Highways England has been reviewing conditions along the section between Brettargh Holt roundabout south of Kendal and Meathop roundabout.

The public information event on the review is being staged from 1pm to 7pm on Thursday, June 27 at the Gilpin Bridge Inn, Gilpin Bridge.

“The A590 between the Brettargh Holt and Meathop roundabouts is a mix of single and dual carriageways with a variety of different conditions and challenges," said Highways England project manager Ryan Billinge.

"As a result of our latest review and feedback from local people, we are considering a number of improvements and want to hear what local people and other road users have to say.”
