THERE is plenty of fun in store for children this half-term.

Bolton Central Library and Museum is celebrating the local history of Bolton from Tuesday, May 27 to Saturday, June 1.

And there will have trails throughout the week for children to follow and discover the rich heritage of the place they live in.

From 10.30am, to 11.30am, youngsters can explore local objects, and from 1pm until 3pm can find out more about weaving, and take part in arts and crafts activities.

On Wednesday, those with designs on success can create their own Bolton T-shirt image

Thursday’s event is based on the works of famous Bolton author Bill Naughton.

Enjoy an extract from one of his many books and put together a comic strip. On Friday the museum will be trying to discover the link between elephants and Bolton. Children can make an elephant mask and join in for at grand elephant parade.

On Saturday they can delve deeper into the history of Bolton andput together a treasure map.
