Two men who crashed a car into an unmarked police vehicle have been charged with drugs offences.
Imran Mahmood, 32, and Dermott Donegan, 42, were arrested on Wednesday evening when officers from the Targeted Crime Team attempted to stop a Black Saab vehicle on Bent Gap Lane, Blackburn.
A spokesperson for the police said the driver of the vehicle tried to make-off from the scene but crashed into an unmarked police car.
The spokesperson said: "The passenger made off on foot but was quickly detained and found to be in possession of two mobile phones and 30 wraps of heroin.
"The driver continued to try and drive off, but was detained by officers and arrested after further drugs and phones were recovered, despite his best efforts to swallow them all."
Mahmood, of Apple Close, Blackburn and Donegan, of Asgarth Drive, Darwen, were both charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and will appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court today.
