A FIRE was left burning in a skip late last night after someone set a pile of timber alight.
Fire crews were called to Brookbottom Road in Radcliffe at 11.10pm to a blaze in a skip after a report from a neighbour.
Fire fighters say it is likely that the fire had been burning for hours as a large pile of timber has been set alight.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: "It was annoying the neighbours.
"It had probably been burning for hours. Someone obviously just left it there. It was giving off quite a bit of smoke."
The fire engine was at the scene for around 45 minutes.
