FORMER UKIP leader Paul Nuttall has announced he will not stand in European Parliament elections if they take place.
Mr Nuttall, who has quit the organisation to join Nigel Farage's Brexit Party, has been a North-West Euro-MP for ten years.
He said: “I never thought this European election would happen; nor should it.
"We should have left the European Union on March 29, as promised.
“I do not intend to stand in this election. I do however, encourage people in the North West to vote for the Brexit Party.
"The battle to free ourselves from the shackles of the EU must continue.
“For my part it has been an honour and a pleasure to represent the people of the North West in the European Parliament for the past decade.”
