METROLINK services have now reopened after being suspended after a man was hit by a tram.
Services between Bury and Queens Road were suspended in both directions as a result of the incident, which happened at Prestwich Metrolink station shortly before 5.15pm.
The injuries of the man, who police say is in his 20s, are not yet known.
Metrolink have now confrimed that the line has reopened but there are severe delays between Bury and Manchester Victoria.
Tram passes are being accepted on other bus services.
Manchester Metrolink tweeted: "Due to an earlier police incident we are experiencing severe delays on the Bury line. Services travelling in both directions between Victoria and Bury are affected. Tickets are being accepted on the 41, 97, 98, 135, 524 bus services. Apologies for any inconvenience caused."
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called to a collision between a tram and a man at Prestwich Metrolink station shortly before 5.15pm."
