A MAN who has lost three stone in as many months found inspiration in an unlikely place... Netflix.

Lee Walsh, who works at Bolton Plastics, in Lever Street has won a workplace ‘fat fighters’ club after shedding 42lbs since January 7.

He won £180 with half being donated to mental health charity Mind - chosen by Mr Walsh himself.

Mr Walsh is currently following a ketogenic (keto) diet, which is high-fat, adequate-protein, and low-carbohydrate.

After being unhappy at weighing 19st at the start of the year, Mr Walsh said he found his new way of life by watching a documentary on Netflix.

He said: I’d had enough at the turn of the year. I was the heaviest I’d ever been at 19 stone. “I’d been on keto in the past with limited knowledge. So I decided to fully research this lifestyle change I wanted to make.

“I was told to watch a documentary called Magic Pill on Netflix. I watched it and it blew my mind.  There’s so many other health benefits to eating the keto way that I never knew about.”

Mr Walsh struggled at first, becoming unwell but he soon saw the results, which made it easier to keep going.

He added: “The standard keto flu came after a few days but I’d learnt to take electrolytes to combat that and it worked. After 7 days I was in ketosis and then the weight started dropping.

"Water weight is first but that’s satisfying in the first week to see results. It also makes you more determined.  I’m now the lightest I’ve been in years and feel so much better for it.”
