MENTAL health matters and people need to talk about it.

That is the key message of a mental health event which takes places tomorrow (April 24).

Organised by Darwen woman and fundraiser Caitlin Jones, the 'meet and greet' event will be chance for mental health sufferers to access different service and get advice, support and information.

Mum Tracy Jones said: "Caitlin set-up the event after losing friends and acquaintances over the last few months and has brought lots of services together after seeing that many people she knows are suffering with mental health problems but didn't know where to access services. "

Caitlin, 23, raised over £10,000 in a single year for East Lancashire Hospice in memory of her dad Nigel who died 11 years ago.

It will also feature special guest motivational speakers who have faced mental battles to help shed light on how to come out on top.

The event has the support of Darwen Healthcare and The Vault and if the need and support is shown, it will become a monthly event for anyone within the Blackburn with Darwen area.

All ethnicities and backgrounds are welcome to talk about day-to-day life, laugh and socialise.

Free pizza will be served at the event and alcohol will be available from the bar.

The event takes place at The Vault, Darwen, between 6pm and 9pm.
