A HEALTH team working with the homeless has seen a 90 per cent drop in the number of A&E attendances among the people they help.
Royal Bolton Hospital’s Homeless and Vulnerable Adult team works with other services and proactively goes out to check on the health of people living on the streets of Bolton.
The team is able to give on the spot treatment as well as housing advice and signpost effectively to other services and groups around the town.
Their work has contributed to a 90 per cent drop in A&E attendances among the homeless people they support.
Joanne Street, acting director of community services at Royal Bolton Hospital said: “Close partnership working sees the Trust, the council and the voluntary sector all work to deliver their absolute best to protect some of Bolton’s most vulnerable people.”
The team’s hard work will be recognised by the Mayor of Bolton Cllr Elaine Sherrington. They have been invited to meet her tomorrow.
