A DRIVER who had a young child in the car failed a drugs test after being stopped by police following a chase.
Police say that the driver of a Seat Ibiza sighted traffic officers on St Helens Road, Bolton and fled into an estate.
The vehicle failed to stop for police with officers giving chase into Great Lever, where it found that the motorist had no insurance and an expired provisional licence.
The driver was arrested.
The incident was tweeted by GMP Traffic just after noon.
Officers posted: "Seat Ibiza sighted our patrol on St Helens Rd Bolton + immediately made off into the estate. the vehicle then fails to stop + was pursued into great lever where the driver gave up. no ins. expired prov lic, fails a drug test. young child was also in the car. driver arrested!"
