CHOCOHOLICS should head to Ramsbottom today for the second day of the town's famous Chocolate Festival.

The popular event is a chocoholics’ paradise with stalls selling everything from chocolate cheese to chocolate wine.

Yesterday hundreds descended on the town to bask in the sunshine and indulge their cravings.

Among the more conventional items on sale are brownies, waffles and cakes, while a Nutella truck will also be on hand.

Additional attractions include children’s rides and crafts, Lancashire Hawks and Owls, The Dogs Trust and the RSPB.

For thirsty adults there is a gin truck and Prosecco wagon.

In the unlikely event that chocolate is not to your taste, a wide range of hot street food will also be served up, including Thai and Greek cuisine.

The festival extends throughout the town centre and stalls can be found on Bridge Street, Market Place, the Civic Hall, Church Gardens and on the Saturday market car parks.

After problems with queuing in Bridge Street last year, some stalls have been moved to the Saturday market car parks, where a large seating area has been installed for guests to relax.

The outdoor festival opens at 9.30am and closes at 5pm. The indoor food and craft market inside the Civic Hall is open from 10am to 4pm.

A park and ride scheme will also be in place, with coaches running from Woodhey High School into the town centre every 15 minutes.
