BURY will not benefit from the latest round of funding for cycling and walking routes in the region.
It is one of three boroughs in Greater Manchester which will not receive any of the £137m investment.
The funding, which is set to be approved on Friday, is the single biggest investment in cycling and walking to date.
It is part of the Bee Network which will see a network of more than 1,000 miles of routes, including 75 miles of Dutch-style segregated bike lanes.
A total of £3.8m has been secured for improvements in the Bury so far.
Last July, 16 new and upgraded crossings and junctions were announced for the borough together with Cycle parking facilities on the Metrolink line.
However, together with Bolton and Oldham, Bury has not benefitted from any additional funding since then.
Further routes in the borough are planned including new cycle routes to Radcliffe and Ramsbottom as well as "Busy Bee" routes to Heywood and Prestwich along Bury New Road.
The next tranche of funding will be announced in July.
