SPRING has now well and truly hit East Lancashire.

Today's weather has seen spells of sunshine and temperatures of around 11 degrees celsius.

And forecasters have said that people can expect more of the same over the next few days and into the weekend.

While temperatures will range from around 11 to 13 degrees celsius during the day, about the average for the time of the year.

There may also be the chance of a little bit of drizzle on higher ground.

Greg Dewhurst, a meterologist at the Met Office, said: “There will be plenty of sunshine throughout the week and into the weekend.

“You may see the odd light shower especially in higher ground and temperatures will be around 11 to 13 degrees celsius.

"The weather will be quite similar throughout the week and it will feel quite warm although it's not quite t-shirt and shorts weather just yet."
