A CAMPAIGNING mum is to be celebrated in a book about inspirational women.

Dawn Fidler, charity founder and mum to Joshua Wilson, will feature in the book She Inspires, recognising inspirational women from the world of business, charities and the volunteer sectors among others.

Dawn set up the Joshua Wilson Brain Tumour Charity with her son in 2013 to help children and their families who have brain tumours and post surgery disabilities.

Joshua developed a brain stem tumour at the age of three and life-saving surgery to remove the tumour left him with serious post-surgery disabilities.

He was an ambassador for the charity and Dawn has carried on his legacy after his death in November, 2014.

The charity has raised more than £700,000 and have helped more than 1,600 families.

The book will be launched at a special event at The Last Drop Hotel, Bolton, on Thursday.

Dawn said: “I was totally blown away when they asked me to be a part of the book. It’s such a very great honour. Importantly it’s a great accolade to recognise the hard work of our fabulous team of volunteers, charity trustees and patrons. I simply could not do this work without their unconditional support.

"Being a part of this book allows me to raise greater awareness of the work we do to support our families who are suffering the most unimaginable traumas, by achieving a greater awareness we can gather greater support and help more families in need.”

At the launch event there will be a panel discussion followed by few words by Cllr Linda Thomas, Leader of Bolton Council, and Liz Blackmore, venue sponsor.
