A SPECIALIST luxury car customising firm is to build a new multi-million pound showroom on Blackburn’s £7millon town centre link road.

Autolab UK Ltd, which provides bespoke vehicles for an international range of A-list clients, will relocate next to Wainwright Way which opened in February 2016.

It will opposite the new Home Bargains Store being built on the other side of the highway connecting Blackburn’s Wainwright Bridge to the town’s ring road.

Today’s announcement of the move by Autolab, which supplies luxury customised cars to Premier League footballers and other international sportsmen from its current premises in Gate Street, means that both sides of Wainwright Way now been allocated by developer the Eric Wright Group.

Home Bargains will start work on its 33,500 sq ft retail store and garden centre in the summer opening in 2020.

Autolab, whose customised vehicle range includes £100,000 -plus Lamborghinis, Porsches and Range Rovers, will start work on the new showroom in the spring with a view to opening it a year later. A workshop will follow in a second phase.

The transfer to its new 0.84 acre complex fronting King Street and Freckleton Street will initially create five jobs.

Director Menaz Sulaman said he planned to keep its existing Jubilee House premises for another of his businesses.

The 46-year-old Darwen resident said: “We are extremely excited to relocate into a prominent position allowing us to expand.

“Autolab has supplied customised cars to a number of international sportsmen including Premier League footballers, boxers and cricketers.

“The company will be spending more than £2m on this development.

“We will be able to offer a product and facility which most major cities don’t even have here in Blackburn, serving the local and wider communities As well as luxury customised new and used cars we can create bespoke vehicles for enthusiasts at a a wide range of prices.”

Cllr Phil Riley, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s regeneration boss, said: “This is great news for the town.

“Autolab is a really exciting company and unique in the UK. The council is delighted to help it within the borough.

“These two businesses will add to the attraction of Blackburn as a place to visit and to shop.”
