WOLFIE took on one of the biggest - and best - names in Super League on Thursday night.

The Wire mascot went to Wakefield sporting a mullet and pink cycling shorts in honour of Trinity star David Fifita.

After breezing into a first half lead, it looked as though Wolfie had plenty to joke about.

Warrington Guardian:

But Fifita almost had the last laugh, scoring as Wakefield got to within two points of pulling off a remarkable escape before Warrington held on 34-32.

Wolfie was seen mimicking the Wakefield forward mid-game as he warmed up on the touchline, although the latter did get his own back as he wrestled the mascot to the floor after the final whistle.

It is the latest stunt by the Wolves this year following the spying mission at St Helens, the beret in Perpignan and the 'no pie zone' placard against Wigan last week.

And Fifita also got the attention of Wire hooker Danny Walker.

He made mention of the forward's physicality in a tweet after the game.
