ELECTRIC cars can be re-charged for free in Bolton, the council has reminded drivers.
And they say they are committed to increasing the numbers of charging points in the town.
There are currently 18 electric vehicle charging points across the three town centre multi-storey car parks at Deane Road, Topp Way and the Octagon Theatre.
Motorists paying to park at any of the three sites are allowed to use the points to re-charge their vehicle.
That also applies at weekends and bank holidays when free parking is available at the town centre multi-storey car parks.
Cllr David Chadwick, said: “We continue to offer free weekend and bank holiday parking. For drivers of electric cars, that comes with the added bonus of recharging their vehicles without paying a penny. We are committed to expanding the number of available EV charging points in Bolton and we are working jointly with Transport for Greater Manchester to identify the best sites.”
