A NUMBER of roadworks in Bolton will cause varying levels of disruption in the coming week. Here is a round-up of where they all are and why your journey may be affected.

All roadworks are for this week (Monday March 18 to Sunday March 24, 2019)

Bolton

Carl Street

The road will be closed at the Halliwell Road junction for a month.

It will close on Saturday and will remain shut until Wednesday April 23.

This is to allow Cadent Gas to install a new gas main.

Radcliffe Road

There will be two way signals in effect, during off-peak hours.

The disruption will be up to number 743 on the road, and will continue until Tuesday.

The works are to allow United Utilities Water to rectify a defect in the carriageway.

Watling Street

Two way signals will be in effect up to number 18 Watling Street.

The measures will be in place between Tuesday and Thursday.

United Utilities will be installing new 25mm short sided work connections and permanently reinstating the three inch force main.

Wigan Road, Hunger Hill

Multi way signals will be in effect, during off-peak hours.

The disruption is due to continue until Tuesday.

The reason for the roadworks is so Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) can cut detector loops for a pedestrian crossing.

Farnworth

Albert Road

The road will be closed at the Brackley Street Junction, during off-peak hours, on Wednesday.

TfGm will be re-cutting detector loops.

Lorne Street/Campbell Street

Multi way signals will be in effect until Tuesday.

United Utilities are rectifying a defect in the carriageway.

Horwich

Chorley Old Road

Two way signals will be in place during off-peak hours on Friday.

It will be on the stretch of the road near the Blundell Arms pub.

Bolton Council's Highways department are installing winter sensors.

Church Street

Off-peak, multi way signals will be in place between Wednesday and Friday.

They will be by the Victoria Road junction.

The works by BT will create a clear blockage in the carriageway.

Westhoughton

Chorley Road

Two way signals will be in place between De Havilland Way and Manchester Road.

The signals will be in off-peak hours until Friday April 5.

Bolton Council Highways are re-surfacing the carriageway.

There will also be localised kerbing and footway works.

France Street

There will be multi way signals at the St Georges Avenue junction.

They will be in place between Tuesday and Wednesday.

The roadworks are to allow BT to lay approximately 25m of Duct in the footway, to link existing BT Boxes to facilitate spine cabling works.

Park Road

Two way signals will be in place on Tuesday during off-peak hours.

It is to allow Virgin Media to excavate the carriageway to repair a chamber.
