ALL flood warnings in Bury have now been lifted the Environment Agency has confirmed.
An alert was put in place for the lower River Irwell catchment area after heavy rains caused water levels to rise dramatically over the weekend.
Several inches of rain fell in just a matter of hours yesterday resulting in minor flooding in some parts of the borough and water on the M66 motorway.
The Environment Agency said: "River levels on the River Irwell have fallen.
"We are expecting localised showers through the day, Sunday 17th March, but not expecting any further alerts.
"We will continue to monitor the forecast and issue updates if necessary. Please be aware of your surroundings and keep up-to-date with the current situation."
