Celebrate LGBT community

A COLOURFUL and insightful celebration and exploration of the LGBT is coming to Bolton Museum on Saturday.

The OUTing The Past festival day will see all four floors of Bolton Library and Museum awash with rainbows with a programme suitable for visitors of all ages.

Bolton is the only Northern venue to host the collection from the British Museum celebrating LGBT lives across thousands of years and cultures.

Some highlights of the programme include a live theatre performance about Walt Whitman, a collection LGBT books and numerous talks on love and experiences.

Emotional WWI play opening

THE emotional story of a First World War soldier from Great Lever tried for desertion is to be brought to life in a new production.

George Ezra at Arena

INDIE-pop megastar George Ezra is bring his blend of fun and catchy anthems to Manchester Arena this Saturday, on his biggest tour to date.

The gig follows the release of George’s best-selling second LP Staying At Tamara’s featuring his No. 1 single Shotgun.

Norwegian pop sensation Sigrid will join George as his support act.

Lancashire story swap

SHARE and swap your experiences of life in the North West at a new project to help portrait life in the region for future generations.

A weekly Talk About Town Café meet-up has launched at Bury Transport Museum and East Lancashire Railway, held every Sunday between 11am and 12pm.

Residents from across the region, of any age, are invited swap stories over a cup of tea. All the memories collected will then be transformed into an archive of community history that will form a major exhibition displayed across the ELR in 2020.
