A TOWN centre building that has stood derelict for more than 10 years has been levelled after demolition teams moved in.
Bulldozers have flattened a brick building that was formerly part of the Williams BMW car dealership in Bradshawgate.
A large pile of bricks and rubble now lies in place of the old property at the Manchester Road end of the site.
Westhoughton-based Forshaw Demolition, who are undertaking the work, have installed large signs at the site which read: "Demolition in progress. Keep out."
Workers began to knock down the two Williams buildings in mid-February. There are currently no detailed plans for what will be put in their place but The Bolton News understands that it will form part of the £1bn town centre masterplan.
The private sector investor working on the project, Empire Property Concepts, is the same company behind building 150 apartments at the Globe Works mill.
