IT'S Oscar weekend and there are plenty of nominated films still in cinemas to tickle your fancy.

Film buffs have been busy debating who will win and who should win for weeks already.

Bohemian Rhapsody, Green Book, If Beale Street Could Talk, Mary Poppins Returns, Mary Queen of Scots, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and The Favourite are all still showing at cinemas in Bolton through the week ­— cineworld.co.uk and bolton.lightcinemas.co.uk online for times.

One of the hottest movies this season is A Star is Born featuring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper with their earworm song, Shallow. It's just out on DVD. As is BlackKklansman.

The Light Cinema is showing a new production of Oscar Wilde's social comedy, Lady Windermere’s Fan.

Directed by Kathy Burke, the comedy was filmed live for cinemas from the Vaudeville Theatre in London's West End.

The day of Lady Windermere's birthday party, and all is perfectly in order. Until her friend Lord Darlington plants a seed of suspicion. Is her husband having an affair?

Wednesday at 6.30pm.

PERHAPS this week will be the right time to catch Bolton's most famous son in his latest cinematic outing.

Ian McKellen stars alongside Kenneth Branagh and Judi Dench in All Is True.

The film is a biopic detailing the last years of William Shakespeare's life as he returns to Stratford Upon Avon after his Globe Theatre burned down.

Catch the film at Cineworld, The Valley in Astley Bridge.
