CRIME certainly did pay for Tyldesley Little Theatre when they staged their production based on an short story by Oscar Wilde.

Lord Arthur Saville's Crime opened the company's new season in October 1991.

The production was Mike Jeffries' first for the group.

Constance Cox's period comedy centres around the imminent marriage of Lord Arthur, who is told it is destiny to be a murderer.

He feels as if he has to fulfil his destiny before he enters into wedded bliss — as expected things do not go as planned and the moral of the story is to illustrate the power of suggestion!

The play undoubtedly drew in the crowds, so ultimately crime did pay for the celebrated theatre company!
