THE entries have once again been coming in thick and fast for our Rod Stewart competition — and here’s your chance to win tickets in our latest giveaway.

We have had thousands of entries for the first two batches of tickets — five pairs — and this week we have another five pairs up for grabs.

The rocker will bring his Live in Concert tour to the University of Bolton Stadium on Friday, June 14, the final date in a series of concerts to be held at football stadiums around the UK.

For those not lucky enough to bag tickets to see the rock legend in Bolton, we will be giving away five pairs of tickets to give away each week for five weeks.

The tour will be Rod’s first in three years and will feature many classic hits plus songs from his new album — his 30th studio offering — Blood Red Roses.

It is thought Rod last visited Bolton as a member of the group Steampacket.

One of the most successful singers of all time, Rod Stewart has sold more than 200 million records worldwide in a career that spans six decades.

Now 74, he has had more than 30 hit singles in the UK and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The father of eight, with his trademark haircut, is a tireless Celtic fan and a decent footballer himself.

In 2016, he officially became Sir Rod Stewart after being knighted by Prince William at Buckingham Palace for his services to music and charity.

Having a self-confessed prolonged case of writer’s block, he said of the new album: “It was clean out of the blue. Something clicked and I realized I had things to write about again and things I wanted to sing about. A whole life’s worth of topics, in fact.”

If you want to be in with a chance of getting into the rock legend’s sold-out show in Bolton this summer, simply answer the following question.

Which football team does Rod support? Send your answers with your name, address and daytime contact number to Rod Stewart Competition, The Bolton News, The Wellsprings, Civic Centre, Bolton, BL1 1AR, or email lisa.schofield@nqnw.co.uk (only one entry per email address).

Entries should arrive by noon on Tuesday, February 26. Usual Newsquest rules apply. More tickets are up for grabs next week.
