WE have taken a trip down memory lane looking for an image of Blackburn and surrounding areas down the years.
And our trip has unearthed this picture which really does paint one thousand words of Preston New Road, Blackburn, around the turn of the century.
In the background is St George's Presbyterian Church which opened in 1868 and was demolished soon after its closure in 1974.
The Presbyterian church was influenced by Calvinism which rejected bishops and believed that the church should be governed by a hierarchy of general assembly, synod, presbytery and kirk sessions attended by ministers and elders of equal rank.
Today, Preston New Road is a major road in an out of Blackburn and is a main route to Preston.
