SHORT delays are expected as a busy road will close for up to five days for resurfacing.

Audley Range in Blackburn will be closed from Monday between North Road and Accrington Road while the road is resurfaced.

The work is expected to be completed by Friday but could be finished earlier than scheduled.

Motorists and cyclists are advised a diversion will be put in place.

Blackburn with Darwen Council's director of HR, legal and governance, David Fairclough, said: "An alternative route for traffic affected by the closure is via North Road, Shadsworth Road, Fecitt Brow and Accrington Road

"Any queries concerning this notice should be made by telephoning the traffic team, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, on 01254 585100."

Despite the closure, bosses say emergency access will be maintained at all times.
