A SUCCESSFUL Horwich company of property lawyers is expanding its scope and its staff.

Amity Law on Lee Lane is adding to its extensive residential conveyancing services by introducing commercial property to its service offering. Heading this new department is solicitor Sarah Williams, formerly with Dootsons Solicitors in Leigh and who trained with prestigious Eversheds in Manchester.

At the same time, Managing Director and Amity founder Jayne Hart has appointed Kim Linehan, who has been with the business for three years, as a Director.

“Kim’s appointment reflects our continued growth and Kim’s hard work and commitment to the company,” she explained.

Jayne Hart is expanding the business to cover commercial property because “there is definitely an opening locally for these services as I know many people are going into Manchester for them. People have also been approaching me about commercial property matters for some time and I wanted to respond to that need.”

Amity Law’s past 12 months have been particularly successful, with improved turnover and more clients. “The residential developments planned around Horwich mean more demand for residential conveyancing services so it seemed like an excellent time to expand generally,” she added.

Jayne Hart, a Licensed Conveyancer with more than 30 years’ experience in property law, founded Amity Law in 2005. The company acts for individuals, investors and mortgage companies in legal transactions relating to residential property.

The new appointment of Sarah Williams means that it can now deal with sales and purchases of commercial property, landlord and tenant matters including the grant, surrender and assignment of leases, and applications for licence to assign, sublet and alter. Amity will also be able to assist with commercial property re-finance, pension scheme transactions and estate development.

Stated Jayne: “Sarah is very knowledgeable yet down-to-earth and provides clients with straightforward, practical advice.”

Sarah qualified into real estate after gaining a first-class law degree at Lancaster University and has specialised in commercial property for more than 15 years. She commented: “It’s exciting to be coming into the company as Commercial Property Director to develop a department which I feel sure will be successful.”
